10km Loop
5km Loop
Please note on the map below, (to see detailed map you must access the "Web" version ...if in the mobile version, scroll to the bottom and select "Web") the trails labelled Lakeside and Saskatoon are now called the Walter Scott Trail (or just Lakeside for those who have been around awhile.) The campground trails are not labelled on this map but can be found if you start down Aspen from the CN station, just before the big hill (going down) turn left and this trail will take you toward the campground trails. This is a 2km loop which winds through the campground and takes you back to the CN station, great for smaller kids.
The yellow trails on the map below are for cross-country skiing only. The pink trails are multipurpose trails.

Skiers generally enter the trail system just behind the CN station. Aspen is an intermediate trail with one signficant downhill section on the route under the powerline. Beginner skiers may prefer to head to the bottom of the hill by the CN station (just down the road in front of the station). At the bottom of the hill you will see the start of the Walter Scott Trail which is ideal for beginner skiers and those with skate skis. There are trail maps along the route.

Hi everyone,
With the onslaught of snow, we have finalized the online registration, and are now ready to welcome members to the 2021-2022 ski season at Vermilion Nordic. Please use the following link to register on zone4: https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=27528
If you have any trouble with the online registration process, please contact Todd (toddree77@gmail.com) or Sandra (skathnel@telus.net). You can find information about membership rates on our website ( vermilionnordic.com ), under Club Information, Become a Member.
The executive is currently working to set up a schedule to rent out equipment. We will once again be meeting members by appointment only, in order to meet the COVID capacity restrictions in the wax room. Details will be sent out as soon as the schedule is confirmed, and we will let you know how to sign up online for an appointment. You must be a club member to rent equipment, so please proceed with online registration in advance.
We are also working on the COVID restrictions, and will post this information on the website as soon as it has been established. Likely it will involve use of a mask and capacity restrictions in the wax room, and restrictions on indoor events.
Stay tuned for more details!

Our opening potluck for the 2017-18 season is scheduled!
Greetings fellow skiers!
I can see snowflakes on the weather forecast for next week, so not a moment too soon...The Vermilion Nordic Ski Club will host the start of the season potluck and rental day on Sunday, November 26. We will meet at the CN Station at 1:30 for a potluck lunch, and following that, members who wish to rent equipment can do so. Please bring your favourite potluck dish to share, as well as your own dishes and cutlery.
Again this year, we will be using the zone4 online registration system. Registration will open on November 1 (see link to registration page below), and the process should be fairly straightforward, following the instructions on the website. If, at any point, you are unsure of how to proceed, please feel free to email me, and I'll do my best to help you out.
We ask members who would like to rent equipment for the upcoming season to please register online BEFORE the potluck, as club policy is to rent equipment to members only. Please note that payment for rentals will still be made directly to the club - rental fees can be paid using cash or cheque (damage and cleaning deposits are best made using two separate post-dated cheques). You can visit the club website (www.vermilionnordic.com) for rental and registration rates. It will be updated soon with dates for this year's events.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. If you are unable to attend the potluck event, and would like to arrange another time to rent equipment, please let me know. Also, please feel free to forward this email to share information about our club event with anyone who may be interested in joining - we would love to have some new members!
I look forward to seeing many of you November 26!
